"Kawarau" Natural Solid Cologne

"Kawarau" blends certified pure tested grade essential oils, jojoba oil, hemp seed oil and bee's wax to make a natural, long-lasting solid cologne. This blend of Bergamot, Cardamon, Cedarwood and Patchouli is a fresh scent that is described with notes of earth, spice and a touch of floral. A perfect day or night scent. 

The 9g slide top tin is the perfect size to fit in your pocket or bag and will stay solid up to around 65 degrees C/147 degrees F. Don't let the size fool you because with everyday use this tin will last you months. Simply rub your finger around on the wax and then apply to your neck, wrists, or any other body part. A little bit will go a long way and will keep you smelling amazing all day long.

What's the Kawarau?

The Kawarau River drains Lake Wakatipu in northwestern Otago, New Zealand. The river flows generally eastwards for about 60 kilometres (37 mi) and passes through the steep Kawarau Gorge until it joins Lake Dunstan near Cromwell. The Shotover River enters it from the north; the Nevis River enters it from the south. With many rapids and strong currents, the river can be dangerous and has claimed many lives.

A natural bridge, "Whatatorere", where the river narrows to 1.2 metres (3.9 ft), was important first to early Māori and then to gold miners as the only place the Clutha and Kawarau rivers could be crossed without boats. Māori were heading for the Cardrona valley to reach Wanaka, and on to the Haast Pass to seek pounamu (greenstone).  The miners were seeking gold in the Arrow Goldfields. 

Kawarau is a Māori name meaning many shrubs. However, the current shrubs around the river are largely of exotic origin and likely to be different from the original native bushes that the name came from.
